Running Discipleship Training Groups

Once you have resolved to empower students to meet one-on-one with their peers for formation in the basics of discipleship, you’ll need to train them. Discipleship Training Groups are the EC context for this formation and training. DTGs are particularly powerful because, after a period of formation, leaders begin meeting one-on-one with their peers and are able to process their ministry experiences week to week with the group. We will discuss various key factors of success for DTGs, including: establishing commitment, planning an effective progression of topics, and connecting the leaders with students to mentor at the appropriate time.
