Evangelization Training Camps
Since their inception in 2006, over 80 people have joined us for our week-long training camps in Madison, Wisconsin. During the five days of training, leaders build upon the formation and training they recieved during our shorter conferences, seminars, and retreats.
We focus first on helping individuals establish vibrant prayer and sacramental lives. Then we teach them vital ministry skills and give them time to practice with each other. Finally, the last two days are dedicated to forming a comprehensive vision for their local ministry that will bring new people into a committed Catholic faith, establish them in discipleship, and equip them for mission.
Testimonials
Our experience at the training camp was remarkable. It was well-planned, organized and balanced with skilled presentation, practice and prayer.
Most important was the transformation that my student leaders underwent…. In returning from Wisconsin, our campus community has undergone an explosion both in numbers and in energy that must be attributed in preponderance to our experience at EC. Since we have been back we have established a very loyal lectio divina group as well as a Catechism Study.
Our community has established a much more welcoming and hospitable environment as we learn to reach out to students on various places on their faith journey. The EC summer training camp was a transforming experience.”
Valerie Klassen, campus minister of Colorado College and UCCS
“I attended the Evangelical Catholic Training Camp two years ago and it has been the single most important aid for me in obtaining a comprehensive VISION for ministry. With a significant ministry background from my time at St. John’s Catholic Newman Center at the University of Illinois, followed by five years of theological and spiritual formation in seminary, the summer training camp gave me the tools I needed to integrate my experience and education….
Now I have a clear sense of purpose in all of my ministry programming decisions, understanding how they will serve the ultimate purpose of making disciples for Jesus Christ.
I am personally convinced that Evangelical Catholic holds an important place in the New Evangelization in this country and I highly recommend it to anyone charged with leading ministry in any setting.”
Jim Schuster, St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Director of Youth Ministry
