Tim O’Malley, Director of Notre Dame’s Center for Liturgy, partners with the Evangelical Catholic on forthcoming Virtual Institutes and Evangelization Training Camps to provide depth in sacramental formation and ideas for connecting liturgy and evangelization.
On our next conference call, Tim will unfold the riches of the liturgical prayers and collects of Advent and Christmas. He will provide handouts and practical insights you can use to pass this on to your students and parishioners.
In our ministry work we sometimes find ourselves in a teaching/formation rut as we try to draw Catholics deeper into the spiritual life through the liturgy and the seasons of the church year. New insights into the purpose and language of seasonal prayers can help us form our students for a more spiritually expansive experience of the Mass this Advent.
The lex orandi lex credendi formula teaches the interdependence between how we pray and what we believe. What we believe and pray drastically impacts the way we evangelize. In our work the EC has noticed a strong correlation between a robust understanding of the liturgy and sacraments and joyful, fruitful evangelization.
Because of this we are committing to spend more time equipping Catholic leaders for evangelization through sacramental formation in addition to our long-standing focus on small group outreach and peer mentoring. We will partner with the University of Notre Dame’s Center for Liturgy and Institute for Church Life. This partnership officially begins with the next Virtual Institute Conference Call. Join us!
